Caught Red Handed with One Foot in the Grave

from With Very Little Help from My Friends by Misk Heavy Manufacturing Concern

I really did write the lyrics back in 1993. Back then it was called "If My Life Flashed Before My Eyes Right Now, I'd Be Disappointed", or "Drop Dead", but it didn't have any music until 2005. I'm really slow sometimes. This didn't make the cut, because the vocals were not that good. And also there was no Dan on it.

Anyway, it's supposed to be funny instead of morbid—your life flashes before your eyes and all you see is your ex, HA! But you know what they say: if you have to explain the joke, it's not funny.

This is how I felt, back in 1993

I forgot I had to breathe
Remembered at the last minute
In the last minute I fell
And I saw everything
I saw you again

You were so infinite
I did not have a chance
You were significant
And now I don't want a thing

I forgot I had to breathe
Remembered a bit too late
Began to slip and I was gone
And I saw everything
I saw you again
Here we go again

Remembering the epilogue
Remembering a bit too late
