Gerald A. Crawford (Nine Songs that Suck, 1992)

from I Liked Your Old Stuff Better by Lil Rich-Bob

/

about

A bunch of songs I recorded by myself after deciding I didn't want to be in a band anymore. I was really shy about my (lack of) singing ability, and buried the vocals.
--
I wrote this in high school, about a business card I found on the ground. The "solo" about gave the engineer a heart attack, and I wouldn't let him jump in and do a "better" one.

lyrics

It was a lovely day at a little past three
When Gerald A. Crawford was staring at me
I him in my pocket and I took him home
And then I knew I would never be alone

Gerald A. Crawford you are a mystery
Gerald A. Crawford what's in store for me
Gerald A. Crawford are you my friend
Gerald A. Crawford beginning or end

I showed my mother this new fate-sealer
She said "he could be a killer or a drug dealer"
I said "but hey mom he's got a cordless phone
And then I knew I would never be alone

Gerald A. Crawford...
